New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: Japanese carmaker Nissan on Wednesday showcased its second teaser of its first Compact B-SUV for the Indian market scheduled to be introduced by June 2021. The company will be launching its first made for India Compact SUV on the philosophy of “Make in India, Make for the World”. Nissan’s new SUV is built on Intelligent Mobility. The new teaser reveals its LED tail-light.
As per reports, the car is likely to get 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that would deliver close to 95 bhp and 160Nm at peak torque. Both AMT and manual gearboxes could be offered on the model.
Building on its global SUV heritage and advanced technology, the New Compact SUV is designed for tomorrow’s journey as a feature-rich premium offering with a stylish design for a strong and dynamic road presence.
With Nissan Intelligent Mobility at its core, the new Nissan B-SUV will be combined with premium interiors and first-in-class technology to make every drive better. The Compact SUV is a testimony to Nissan’s Global SUV DNA spirit of relentless innovation and Japanese engineering that is built on Nissan’s iconic models such as Pathfinder, Patrol, Armada, Juke, X-Trail, Qashqai and KICKS.
"We have embarked on a business strategy to launch at least a new car in India, every year, as we move ahead starting with a compact SUV. We have a winner at hand that would have the strong Nissan SUV DNA," said Rakesh Srivastava, MD of Nissan Motor India.
Based on the philosophy of 'Make in India, Make for the World', the new Nissan compact SUV will compete against Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet and Mahindra XUV.
