"You (governments) forced children to confine themselves to their houses," National Green Tribunal said. "Even a mask has a limit. Beyond a degree of pollution, masks may be detrimental," it added. "Officers present here are not revealing ground reality, all we see is construction work on Delhi-Chandigarh route that violates guidelines," NGT cited.

NGT To Delhi Government

"You have any data that shows reduction of smog? Why are you sprinkling water through cranes and not helicopters?," NGT asked Delhi Government officers.

"Diwali and crop burning are known factors, did you hold any meeting in August and September to prepare the state to tackle pollution?:" NGT questioned the officers.

NGT To Haryana Government
NGT said that Haryana government has done nothing to control smog and pollution.

NGT To Punjab Government

"If you (Punjab government) had provided even Rs 1000 to the farmers, they would not have burnt the agriculture wastage like this," it said.

"How many machines have you provided to the farmers for agriculture waste disposals?" NGT asked Punjab government officers.

"What major steps have you taken to reduce crop-burning?" it added.

Meanwhile, Congress's Women’s Wing on Tuesday protested outside CM Arvind Kejriwal’s residence.
